Solicitor’s Certificate – FAQ – Guarantor Advice

  3. Face-to-face meeting in our Collins Street office

Can this be done online?

Only in limited circumstances where:

  • The lender doesn’t require a 100 point ID check or Certified ID; and

  • Does not require the advising solicitor to witness your signature

Please check with your lender before enquiring (all states)

Don’t I just need a witness? No. A Solicitor’s Certificate is a certificate from a registered Australian Solicitor/Lawyer, attesting that they have provided the client with advice as to their rights and obligations, etc. If the advice is rushed or not provided at all, the solicitor can be sued by the relevant lender in due course
